One of beautiful Gurudwara Sahib (Sikh Place of Worship) which lies in the lap of scenic hills is Gurudwara Nangali Sahib It is nearly 240 kms away from Jammu (Jammu & Kashmir - India) . The Gurudwara is located in Poonch town and situated to the left bank of river Drungli. Poonch is connected through road network only and Jammu is the nearest place for rail network and Airways.

Gurudwara Nangali Sahib is one of the oldest Gurudwaras in Jammu and Kashmir. The first three Gursikhs who marked this place were in fact baptised and sent by Guru Gobind Singh Ji (Tenth Nanak) to preach the Sikh way of life in this remote part of world.


The Gurudwara Sahib was established by Thakur Bhai Mela Singh ji (Fourth successor of Sant Bhai Feru Singh ji) in the 1803 AD. Maharaja Ranjit Singh visited Gurudwara Nangali Sahib in 1814 and was enticed by this divine place. He attached an estate with the Gurudwara Sahib. Later, he again attached four villages with the Gurudwara sahib in the year 1823.

Currently the Gurudwara Sahib management is supporting a full fledge Engineering College (Mahant Bachiter Singh Engineering College – MBS College) and more than five schools. Lot of devotees from different faiths come to visit this serene place. Gurudwara complex has more than 70 rooms and big Langar Hall. Every year on Baisakhi (Khalsa Establishment Day), a huge congregation takes place and people from all walks of life come to enjoy the bliss of Gurbani (Sacred compositions by Guru) this place
