My Little Spirit

A beautiful poem by a longing Soul

Here it goes ...

Like the vine intertwined,
To the stem nearby
My little spirit, 'Dear Soul'
Refuses to let go of you.

Though small it was yesterday too
Yet never to weak to breathe on its own
Its frailty now pines for your arms
Where did it go? The beast that ego.

Alone it was many moons back too
But never so desperate as it is now
Swaying in the wild wind it so loved
Now all it needs is your anchor.

'And your Freedom?' the winds caution
'You take it all’, retorts my soul
'For never have I felt so free
As I feel now to be the slave of his love

Take me along to the zenith of the 'sky'
That you wish me to see
And I promise I’ll make you see
What my life owes to you!

Love me not yet, I’m not yours
Hate me not, you’re still mine
Pray to Him, you remain mine
And i shall pray to deserve to be yours...
